When we finally were able to check in, we rented to bikes from the reception and explored the little town. Not much to see around here except for the lake, some pagodas, temples and a few markets. There is probably more, if you want to share a taxi with someone and go a bit further. We went to the morning market, ate lunch at Chillax Bistro and we spent time reserving hostels and bus tickets.

Mingalaba Nyaung Shwe
As our next destination in Myanmar is Nyaung Shwe, or more popular as Inle Lake, I though of giving a short explanation what it is, where and why she chose to go here. Inle Lake is the second biggest lake in Myanmar and also a UNESCO heritage site. Apparently the best time to visit the Inle Lake is during September and October, due to festivals lasting for three weeks. Inle Lake has become a popular destination and the tourist infrastructure is developing. The lake is located 330 km from Mandalay (where I´m off to next).
Once again a long night bus. We travelled with a minivan from Bagan to Inle Lake. The trip took 9 hours, since we stopped too many times along the way. When we finally arrived to our hostel, Song of Travel Hostel, we obviously were not able to check in since we arrived at 04am. However, for only 6,500 kyats (4,70€) we could sleep in a dorm without air-condition. It seems like everything is possible here in Myanmar, there is a solution for every problem.
