Cèzù tinbadeh Myanmar

Cèzù tinbadeh (thank you) Myanmar! You have been amazing and way beyond my expectations. I must say that the Burmese people are so warm, friendly, happy and curious in a positive way. Children, men and women want to greet, take pictures and just have a quick conversation. Even if they vocabulary is limited, they still do their best to be understood and understand what you say. I love the people here. They genuinely care, they remember and they have a solution for everything.

During my time in Myanmar I managed to visit Yangon, Bagan, Inle Lake, and Mandalay. It´s hard to say which city I enjoyed the most, because each city brought value to my trip. Traveling in Myanmar was pricier than I expected. Comparing it to other countries in South East Asia, Myanmar´s prices are a bit higher when it comes to food, accommodation and transportation.

What you should have in mind when travelling to Myanmar is that it´s a big country. Even though it seems to be small, and you might think, “Oh, such a short distance, we can get there in just a few hours”, that´s completely not true. The roads are not well maintained. Google might say 3 hours by car/bus, the reality: 8 hours and sometimes even 24 hours. Myanmar needs time. Time to travel, time to explore, and time to absorb its greatness. If you have a lot of time, you will be able to make friends for life and perhaps travel together. I do recommend starting in Yangon, and then traveling to Inle Lake, Mandalay, and last destination Bagan. This route makes the most sense, at least according to the locals.

I wish that I could have spent more time in Myanmar, I just don´t want to leave. That´s how it always feels, but with leaving things unseen, you will always have a good reason to come back. Myanmar definitely became one of my favorite places I´ve ever visited, and I would love to come back and stay longer! To summarise the stay in Myanmar, here is a short video. This was definitely not the last time I will visit Myanmar!
