Cliffs of Moher & Galway

Dublin isn't a big city and if proactively explored, you have seen it all in a couple of days basically. Therefore, we decided to join a tour to the countryside and to the Cliffs of Moher. It literally felt like being at the end of the world, and the views were breathtaking. No picture can describe the feeling nor the beauty of this place. After the cliffs, we had lunch in a small village called Doolin before continuing to Galway. We only had a short time in Galway, but we definitely enjoyed it before heading back to Dublin. An amazing way to end a great time in Ireland with a good friend. Ireland - We will be back!

Dublin, Ireland

Visiting Dublin and Ireland has for long been an option as the flights from Amsterdam to Dublin are quite cheap. Finally together with my good friend from South Korea, Sehee, we decided to go for a long weekend to Ireland. Not was this our first time there, but we also had the opportunity to celebrate her graduation and just spend time together. We visited many of the most popular attractions, cathedrals, monuments, and had a lot of delicious food combined with pub atmosphere and live music. A very successful trip, that unfortunately ended with food poisoning. It was all worth it, and I would love to visit Ireland again. Next time, road trip and more time spent on the countryside. The weather was amazing during our time in Ireland, some unexpected rainy moments but they only lasted for a few minutes.

Sheikh Zayed Mosque - Abu Dhabi

The list of temples, churches and mosques I have visited is endless and at times it gets repetitive. However, when the Sheikh Zayed Mosque was in front of me, it took my breath away. The mosque was only built in 1996 and completed by 2007 and accommodates 41,000 people at once, which makes it the largest in the country.

This has been a place I have wanted to visit for years and was probably the only thing I had to see and experience before leaving the UAE. While travelling in Morocco last year, I found so much peace spending time at several mosques. Being there, listening to the call for prayers and the atmosphere just brought me so much harmony and set my mind at ease. In some way, maybe due to my Persian background, a mosque strangely reminds me of home.  All these feelings were experienced yet again as I entered the Sheikh Zayed Mosque during this week.

As much fun it is as a fan for photography, the mosque definitely stands out and it is gorgeous. After the necessary photos have been taken, I wouldn’t mind spending hours at a mosque like this. Somehow, it has made my thoughts go all kind of places and I’m curious to see what will come out these thoughts.
