Brussels, Ghent, Antwerp - Belgium

Travelling alone is something I don't mind doing. To pack my suitcase and fly to the other side of the world for months to unknown places is what I strive for and what fuels my soul. However, the term "long weekend" travelling solo, is definitely not as exciting as travelling with someone. Overall, it is okay doing everything on your own, the loneliness hits when you are heading out for dinner. At the same time, a good obstacle to overcome I guess.

Straight from my nightshift at 10AM I took the train from Amsterdam Central towards Brussels. When arriving to the Marriott hotel located in the middle of the city, I had received a complimentary upgrade facing the La Bourse de Bruxelles. I walked around and just explored the city.
I've seen many attractions, landmarks and statues in my life, but I find it quite funny how popular this little peeing boy is - Manneken Pis. Around this small 61 cm statue, you will find a lot of visitors taking pictures and selfies. As silly as it sounds, I definitely had to pay this little boy a visit. Didn't come as a surprise that there was chocolate statues of Manneken Pis - awesome!

The next day I took a train in the early afternoon to Ghent. I have been around the world quite some bit at this point, and some placed does not give me the "wow" feeling. Ghent blew me away and I had such a good time. I walked around a lot, took a lot of great pictures, had delicious food and was just amazed how beautiful this city was. I definitely want to go back.

On the next and my last day, I visited Antwerpen. Not a success, but at least I managed to do some shopping before returning to Amsterdam.
